Been working overseas thought wife paying state tax in MA?
Monday, March 15th, 2010Got a big suprise when I looked at my credit report when trying to refinance. Found their was a state tax lien on property. Been working overseas and thought my wife was paying off state tax. Well I guess not and I owe a bunch of money. Any advice on what I should do about paying taxes. What I dont understand is wages or bank account havent been garnished and I was issued new drivers license.

When you pay property taxes and have old property tax liens, do the payments go to the old taxes first?
Saturday, February 6th, 2010My husband just found out there is a tax lien from 2004 on his credit report (he and his wife were separated at the time and she had the house and didn’t pay) We looked on the city website and the only taxes listed as due are current for the year. If she was paying the taxes the following years would the payments have automaticaly gone to the old taxes first or could 2004 taxes still be due? Thanks..

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009My credit report shows an old tax lien filed about ten years ago in a county where I lived previously?
I need to actually get a copy of the lien to see what in the heck they want and from when. I know I can go to the county recorder and pay for a hard copy, but are there any free search sites for state or federal tax liens?
